Chess Club Chalet. \o/

After uh... "convincing" my juniors to have a chess club chalet as our farewell party, they finally planned one on Wednesday, complete with a BBQ on the second day to top it off.

And hell, it was fun.

Wednesday started with LAN party with Ron, Sean and gang. My BF skills are still rather crap, since I cannot fly a plane worth nuts, but my CS skills has somewhat...improved.

No idea why. Perhaps the CS gaming with my class removed some rust.

Or perhaps we simply stuck together and played as a team.

Either way, I had to rush back home in order to get my Mahjong set, since Jason said that no one brought anything.

Hence, I had to drag that insanely heavy set to the MRT, hoping to meet someone at 4.

Surprise surprise, Jason came at 4:13, and we headed to barely board the shuttle bus at 4:15, which was totally packed.

The first night at the chalet was pretty much Mahjong For The Win, as I've played for 9 hours straight (No chips too. 1 fan FTL...), ordering Pizza for dinner, and pretty much having my butt superglued onto a chair.

When I finally went to sleep at 4am, I was, unfortunately, disturbed by the 4 juniors who commanded the top of the bunk. I can't exactly blame them, since I was experimenting the effects of Sicillian with Joelson (1. e4 c5). While I could not sleep, I was entertained and highly amused by the stories that the 4 of them were sharing (one of which involved poor Johnny's attempt to participate in the 110 hurdles, in which he could not even jump over 1 of the hurdles.)

2nd day started off with me waking up on the crouch at 11am, with half of the world missing since they have work or something of that sort. Decided to head out with the juniors to play Pool at Zone X (8 bucks an hour? O_o), before getting trashed in Bishi Bashi. I followed by spending the next 30 minutes or so nearly (keyword) completing World Combat. I can't believe how I could call myself a "pro" in that game if I keep losing over 3 lives in the last stage, even though I've improved on the Airport stage by keeping my losses at only 1 life (could lost over 4 lives last time).

Since Yan Bing and Zhi Wei disappeared back to the Chalet, Jun Ming decided to brainwash Sarah into riding a bicycle, with an intention of teaching her. Without much to do since I am sick of cooking for the world at the BBQs, I decided to join in the fun. Thankfully, since Sarah had a little experience with bicycles, she wasn't too hard to teach, especially since I used the "Learn to ride a bike in 20 minutes, NF style" on her. However, all turned out well since she was from NPCC, and all my barking had that sort of "officer's" effect on her (I think). All she needed to do was to learn to balance herself, start pedaling, and whoa, she's flying like the wind.

Only thing was, she lacked a lot of confidence. Everytime she went near the grass, or the edge of the bike track, birds will take flight in fear, scattering in all directions as her shrill scream piecered through the peaceful air of Paris Ris Park. Not that I really cared after a while though, since she managed to ride a bike, somewhat. But hey, I only had an hour to work with, and as I've said, give me an hour more, and she will be performing no-handed flairs over ramps (Flair = blackflip with a 180 degree twist) by the end of my session.

In the strangest of the events, after returning our bikes, I saw HER, walking in my direction towards Costa Sands. Still as joyful and energetic, as usual, while I was still reeling from the effects of 4 hours of sleep the other night.

Still, it showed how small the world was.

Needless to say, my day brightened up considerablely after that. ^^

When we went back, the seniors decided to hog the mahjong table to themselves. Thankfully, I had brought my set, and took the rest of the male Excos into a room to play Mahjong, HK style. HK style means that there isn't any Dogs, kittens, cockroaches or whatever, hence making it much much harder to obtain the "tais", or "Fans", as we call it in Hong Kong. With the requirement at only 1 "Fan", I must say that it can be difficult at times, since you cannot rely on picking up those "bonus" items such as the animals in order to obtain the "access" to win the game. Hence, HK mahjong requires you to actually construct sometime, instead of playing a chicken hand.

However, Keith had Lady Luck licking his earlobe or something that day, since he managed to "Zhi mo", or pick up the winning tile by himself twice.

Lucky....(insert normal swears here).

Outside, the Seniors are playing Singapore style while using my chips and Othello pieces as additional chips, since I definately do not have enough chips with me. At home, I usually have an additional bag of chips which my parents brought, since the style of Hong Kong payment can be rather large (With my relatives, you can pay up to 192 dollars, if you screw up. Of course, we are talking about having a limit here. There are times when even chips won't be enough if you play without the limit).

Of course, chips turns into 10 cents and 20 cents later. LoL. Some one reportedly lost over 10 bucks or something. No idea how that could happen....

The BBQ itself was just, the normal stuff. Normal is good, since it's hard to really make a "special" one (only had one of that back in Hong Kong), and it isn't bad, which is good enough. Plenty of food, as usual, and plenty of talks and drinks.

A few things I've learned though, "Original Japanese Green Tea" is not to be drunk, but has to be used as a form of a forfeit.

God...is that even a drink...? >_<

Also, I've finally removed the cloak of darkness behind the person who was "NightFalcon". I wanted to do it for a long time, and I decided to do it when she was walking back from the BBQ pit to the chalet along, before I told her that she had a nice blog, leading to me asking if she had ever wondered who NightFalcon was.

Hehe. As I've said, I'm the master of the internet. Short of a 512bit encrypted key (32 are getting boring =P), you can't exactly hide anything. Haha.

Fengzhi popped up a few hours later to visit us, and we and Xin Lan headed to the pool side to chat and stuff, talking how time flies, about the "good old days" like a bunch of 80 year olds. XD

But seriously, time did fly pretty quickly. Roughly this time last year, I was at the same place with my class mates, displaying all the traits of a "no-lifer" by holing ourselves in the room to play Naruto on the PS2. This time last year, I was dancing since I got promoted, and not caring about what the heck will happen in my 2nd year in TPJC. Heck, this time last year, I don't think I'm as close as I am with the Exco as I am right now.

How time flies.

The rest of the night was spent by playing games after Fengzhi went home. Can you believe that there's a taxi turning into the isolated Aloha Area at around 12am or something (I can't tell, since I don't have a watch, and I can't tell time by looking at the sky at night. Day time, perhaps). Lady Luck must be smiling at her as well. Haha.

The games went horribily for me. In my case, Lady Luck took a month long vacation, and is still sipping Lemonade under some swaying palm trees in Hawaii when we were playing those "forfeit" games, since I had to forfeit like 3 times in total. The point of those forfeit stuff is to Embarrass yourself. The things I was forced to do was beyond the idea of "embrarassment", and I think I scarred someone mentally for life. The first one was pretty fun though, although I have to act like a total jack ass to the J1s, as I forced to ask them 2 questions, after which I would turn around, walk back into the room, and slam the door behind me.

The other two...

Let's just say I ain't going to say it.

=)

Went to bed at 5:30, before waking up at 7:30 because we had to collect our testimonals in school. No idea why the school can't give it to us when we collect our A Level results, just like what happened in Coral Sec, but hey, this is TPJC, and they screw up everything and nothing.

I was considered to be one of the earlier ones, since only 2 others have came before I did. However, what surprised me was the certificate of merit that was given to me. If I am not wrong, Kok Siong was the only other one in class to receive it.

Interesting, because my class, which had a lot of people in Leadership positions, did not get it. I wonder what I did to get the certificate.....

Ah well.

Mr Koh was the joke of the day though, as he messed up Lan Jie's Testimonal by saying that she had offered Econs instead of F Maths. XD.

However, it's not as though my testimonal was exactly fantastic, since my teacher specialises in the Chinese Language. I loved the one by Miss Tan back in Secondary School, but I guess the one I have will do.

All in all, a pretty fun 3 days. I definately had fun.

Now, onto Monday and more Mahjong Tournments. XD
